But Some Have Answered the Call

Manufacturers recognize that many people would like to enjoy their silk palm trees outdoors. That's why some are offering plants and trees that are constructed of waterproof materials, such as polyester and plastic, and can be used in covered outdoor areas (like porches) for some time. But be aware that they are more likely to have a shorter lifespan if kept outdoors for long periods. Some leaves may be plastic but are NOT UV-rated. This means that sunlight will eventually break down the plant, so if it needs to be outdoors, we recommend placing it out of direct sunlight.

Others Claim They've Found the Answer

Some manufacturers claim that their silk palm trees are specifically designed and engineered for outdoor use. Their poly-blend outdoor palm trees are UV stabilized to resist fading under sunlight. They're waterproof and extremely durable. But they do require some upkeep. To maintain one of these custom-made outdoor palms, they recommend an annual application of a water seal to the natural palm trunk.

So, maybe there is an answer to consumers' outdoor desires. Maybe you can find your favorite type of tree in a silk palm tree in the exact height you're seeking & and have it acceptable for outdoor use. Hopefully, you can.
