Bird of Paradise Silk Plants

Note the Eloquence of the Flowers

In a bird of paradise, the flowers stand above the foliage at the tips of long stalks. The spathe, or hard, beak-like sheath from which the flower emerges is placed perpendicular to the stem, which gives it the appearance of a bird's head and beak. The flowers, which (in live plants) can emerge one at a time from the spathe, consist of three brilliant orange sepals and three purplish-blue petals. Two of the blue petals are joined together to form an arrow-like nectary. When the birds sit to drink the nectar, the petals open to cover their feet in pollen. Hence, giving this plant the appropriate name of bird of paradise.

Enjoy this Beauty Year-Round

Bring the look of the tropics indoors to enhance your decor with a bird of paradise palm and its silk flower accessories. The grey-green leaves are large, long-stemmed, and quite banana-like with their wide shape. The fronds vary in their shades of green to simulate a realistic mix of old and new growth. Sizes may vary, but you're more likely to find this silk palm tree in larger heights & even up to and over 9 feet! Because it's a larger palm, this species is probably best suited for your living room or to make a statement in you entryway or sunroom. And because it's artificial, it will withstand the test of time better indoors than outdoors. The only dilemma then is where to put it!
